Sneak Preview - how it works

1. You request an estimate that includes the option for the preview clips.
2. We order your material from NARA.
3. Once your reels arrive we transfer any and all material needing preview using the tapeless option (direct to drive), in high definition or standard definition.
4. For each reel in question we encode the file for MP4 and pitch it to our server.
5. You receive an e-mail with your unique user name and password. You are assured that the files are for your eyes only.
6. Your retrieve the file and view in QuickTime Player for positive confirmation.
7. If the file contains the clip you need we either load a drive or play out to tape and complete your order and send it on its way.

Costs

• Tapeless service fee: In addition to the normal archival transfer and handling costs, you will pay the tapeless service fee of $2.25 per minute for the total runtime of the material in need of preview. (EX: 29 minutes = $65.25.) Purchase and load clients will receive their reduced per minute fee of $1.60.
• Clip fee: The basic clip fee is $20 for an item 10 minutes or under in length. For longer files, there is a $2.00 charge for each additional minute. This fee covers preparation for upload and upload of the file.
